Strange’s has a position opening for a seasonal spring 2024 stocker position at the Short Pump location. The Stocker is responsible for assisting customers and adding or restocking new products/goods to the sales floor. The essential candidate has outstanding customer service skills and thrives in a team environment. Pay rate to be discussed during the interview process.

This position requires lifting up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis. Weekend work is mandatory for this opportunity.

Job Responsibilities

• Greets and assists customers
• Stocks shelves, retrieves carts and labels products
• Maintains cleanliness of the sales floor
• Receives, opens, unpacks and displays sales floor merchandise
• Assist in customer carry out and loading
• Completes tasks given by senior management

Call Center Associate

Strange’s has position openings for temporary Call Center Associates at the Mechanicsville location.

Call Center Associates are responsible for promptly completing customer orders over the telephone through the order entry program in an accurate and professional manner that supports developing a positive rapport with customers. The essential candidate has outstanding customer service and active listening skills, as well as the ability to navigate computer software quickly. Pay rate to be discussed during the interview process.

Applicants must be able to work a full shift (8AM – 5 PM) May 3rd – May 12th. 

Job Responsibilities

• Receives and processes inbound calls from customers and management personnel
• Answers questions about retail products and customer accounts
• Completes customer orders through the Order Entry program in a timely manner
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management in between calls

Nursery Team Member

Strange’s has position openings for spring 2024 seasonal Nursery department team members at the Short Pump location. This team member is responsible for assisting customers and maintaining product within the nursery department of the garden center. The essential candidate enjoys getting their hands dirty, exudes exceptional customer service and loves to learn. Product you would work with as a nursery team member includes trees, shrubs, perennials, and ground covers.

Pay rate to be discussed during the interview process. Opportunity to on-board as a permanent team member July 2024!

**This position requires working in a outdoor environment in all weather conditions for up to 8 hours at a time, standing for longer periods of time, as well as lifting up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.

Candidates must be able to work during the day between the hours of 8 am – 6 PM and at least 1 weekend day every week.

• Assists customers and presents them with product information
• Actively participates in unloading trucks, watering plant product, and restocking department inventory
• Creates product displays with management guidance

The Nursery Team member assists the team in other areas when asked by management

Strange’s has position openings for spring 2024 seasonal Greenhouse Workers at all Strange’s locations. The Greenhouse team member is responsible for assisting customers and maintaining product within the greenhouse area of the garden center. The essential candidate enjoys getting their hands dirty, exudes exceptional customer service and loves to learn. The types of plants this team member works with includes houseplants, blooming annuals, vegetables, and herbs.

Pay rate to be discussed during the interview process. Opportunity to on-board as a permanent team member July 2024!

**This position requires standing for longer periods of time, as well as lifting up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis. The essential candidate has experience working with blooming annuals.

Candidates must be able to work at least 1 weekend day every week consistently.

• Assists customers and presents them with product information
• Creates product displays with management guidance
• Waters, fertilizes, spaces, and maintains inventory of greenhouse product

The Greenhouse Team member assists the team in other areas when asked by management
