Springtime in the Fall – Cool Season Reblooming Iris Show

You may think you know about irises, but did you know that reblooming bearded iris hybrids bloom in the spring PLUS additional flowering in the summer, fall, or both in hardiness zones 7 and cooler?
Come and discover one of gardening’s best kept secrets as the Reblooming Iris Society (RIS) & Central Virginia Iris Society from Region 4 of the American Iris Society presents “Springtime in the Fall – Celebrating Bearded Iris Rebloom!”
Any growers of cool season reblooming iris may enter their iris free of cost between 8:30 a.m and 10:30 a.m. the day of the event. Entries can be viewed between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 4:00p.m.
Event is free and open to the public.
SHOW HIGHLIGHT: Metro Blue
Developed by local reblooming iris breeder Michael Lockatell, Metro Blue is an American Iris Society 2017 Garden Award Honorable Mention. The North Chesterfield tall bearded introduction was one of three Eastern varieties and the only cool season rebloomer on a list of 819 entries to win this award.
