Floral Delivery Driver

Job status:  Part-time

Strange’s has a position opening for a part time floral product Delivery Driver at the Short Pump location.

The Floral Delivery Driver is responsible for the prompt delivery of all assigned goods/orders while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor that supports company morale.

Applicants must be able to provide a valid drivers license and have +points driving record. Experience driving a delivery van preferred.

Scheduling : Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8 AM – 5 PM

*Additional hours during Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas holidays

• Maintains cleanliness of delivery vehicles
• Completes daily tasks assigned by management
• Communicates with management on the status of all deliveries
• Completes routes and deliveries promptly
• Loads and unloads delivery vehicles in a timely manner
• Updates the system according to delivery completion
• Organizes, cleans, and maintains safety of the garage/warehouse space
• Assists with processing floral shipments (including cleaning buckets)
• Checks delivery vehicle daily to ensure safe transportation

Customer Service Desk Associate

Job status:  Part-time
Hours:  25-28 hours per week
Location:  Short Pump, VA 23233

Strange’s is seeking two part time associates to oversee the customer service desk at the short pump location.

The customer service desk associate acts as the first point of contact for customers whether in person or on the phone.

Scheduling: Two scheduling options available: THUR/FRI/SAT 8 AM – 6 PM or  SUN 10-5 PM MON/TUES/WED 9-5 PM

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers as they enter the facility
• Assist in printing tags for greenhouse product
• Sort incoming mail
• Assist in preparing store signage
• Answer phones and direct customers on product location
• Process refunds or returns
• Respond to online inquiries when needed
• Accept and enter payments on customer accounts
• Manage the express checkout lane during busy seasons
• Complete other assorted tasks provided by management

Groundskeeper

Job status:  Part-time
Hours:  25 hours per week
Location:  Short Pump - 12111 W Broad St Richmond VA 23233

Strange’s has a position opening for a part-time Groundskeeper at the Short Pump Garden Center. This team member is responsible for performing routine grounds keeping and building maintenance as well as assisting the Nursery team with day-to-day Nursery department operations. The essential candidate has experience operating grounds machinery/equipment.

Flexible scheduling – Any 3 days during the week 8 AM – 5 PM (Saturdays required March-May an Thanksgiving-December) 

Skills & Abilities :

• Positive attitude and professional demeanor
• General knowledge of gardening and plant care as well as operation of general hand, power, and shop tools
• Physically fit

Job Responsibilities

• • Cuts lawn, trims and edges around walks, flower beds, walls, etc.
  • Plants flowers, trees and shrubs based on management direction and maintains established garden beds
  • Prunes shrubs and trees
  • Spreads fertilizers and applies herbicides
  • Removes snow and ice from building walkways and steps; rake leaves, clean and sweep litter
  • Maintains grounds equipment/machinery (i.e. forklifts, scissor lifts, and tractors) and ensures that all equipment is in good working condition
  • May perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping
  • May perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on buildings and greenhouses
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management (i.e., snow and trash removal)
  • Assists in applying whitening to greenhouse glass during warm seasons
  • Assists in the preparation for boiler inspections and repairs
  • Communicates frequently with management regarding possible product issues such as, disease or pest problems
  • Assists in unloading, loading, and distributing plant material for the nursery and greenhouse departments during the spring and fall seasons
