Philodendron Plant Description

Philodendron is one of the most well-known and easiest to grow houseplants. Its leaves can be green, green and white, green and gold, or even a reddish-green. It will grow virtually anywhere and makes an excellent office plant. Philodendrons come in several cultivars that have a heart shaped leaf, a large leaf with "fingers", and a larger heart shaped leaf that is cut.

Philodendron are usually sold as a draping plant or hanging basket. They can also be found climbing on bark poles or wood slabs. There are also larger kinds available that don't need support of any kind, like the selloum philodendron.

Watering
Keep the soil slightly dry to light moist. Do not let the plant sit in water.

Pruning Philodendron can be trimmed very easily if they get too long. The cuttings can be rooted in water to start new plants.
